The Summer Solstice: A Moment of Light, A Lesson in Letting Go
Every year on June 21st, the Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere — a sacred turning point where the sun reaches its highest peak in the sky. It's a moment of radiant light, expansion, celebration, and soulful illumination. In ancient traditions, the Solstice is seen as a time of divine feminine power, abundance, and receiving. It asks us to slow down, honour the light within, and trust that the seeds planted will blossom in divine timing.

This year’s Solstice, however, was not what was planned.

By now, there was hope of living in Italy — soaking in the Roman sun, working with a beautiful family, walking cobbled streets with olive-skinned confidence and the sound of Italian all around. Instead, still in Belfast, at home, and now — heartbreakingly — unemployed again.

Just last week, after being offered a dream nanny position and already visualising the wardrobe, the children, and the sunsets, a very, very unexpected turn of events led to the offer being withdrawn due to unforeseen circumstances with the employer. This sudden shift brought on waves of uncertainty and worry about what’s next.

Uncertainty feels heavy, with moments when the ground seems to disappear.

On the eve of the Summer Solstice, a quiet invitation to not miss the moment appeared.

Surrounded by soft, dreamy music, warm candlelight, and the gentle glow of love lights, there was a resting into the energy hoped to be attracted — a vision of romance, joy, freedom, safety, and purpose. What began to rise was a deeper connection to the divine feminine — a soft power that doesn’t chase, but attracts; doesn’t fight, but flows.

There’s a sense of becoming more feminine — in spirit, presence, and energy. Softer. More radiant. More connected to the body and intuition. Less about proving, more about embodying.

And in that stillness, a vision bubbled up so clearly it felt tangible:

✨ Lying at a gorgeous beach club on the Mediterranean, surrounded by great company, golden light glinting off the sea. Wearing a tiny bikini, sun-kissed and unapologetically embracing a beautiful body, full of confidence and peace. A chilled drink in hand, music floating through the air, and the quiet, grounded certainty of job security anchoring it all. A moment where everything feels aligned — work, worth, beauty, and belonging.

That night brought the most restful sleep in weeks.

The next morning brought Mass and a well-known novena. Focus was hard. The heart felt tender. But there was gratitude — for the community, for the glimpses of grace, for everything that’s shaped the path, even when it's felt broken.

This year’s Summer Solstice didn’t bring the outward life imagined.

But it brought something sacred:
A return to the self.
To intuition.
To the magnetic power of feminine energy — the kind that rests, radiates, and trusts.
The kind that knows dreams don’t disappear. They ripen.

Here’s to surrendering with grace.
To holding the vision with love.
And to trusting that what’s meant is already on its way — sunlit and sure.
