How to Keep Your Hair Thick, Long, and Healthy During Your Travels

Traveling can be hard on your hair, with different climates, water quality, and environments affecting its health. But with the right products and routine, you can keep your hair thick, long, and healthy, no matter where you go.

1. Choose the Right Shampoo and Conditioner

When traveling, it’s essential to use shampoos and conditioners that protect and nourish your hair.

  • L'Oréal Professional Inforcer Shampoo: While traveling in the Middle East, I struggled with hard water that damaged my hair. L'Oréal’s Inforcer Shampoo helped strengthen and protect my strands from breakage, leaving my hair feeling healthier and shinier despite the harsh water.

  • Maria Nila Repair Shampoo: During my time in Spain, I tried Maria Nila’s Repair Shampoo, and it worked wonders. The shampoo added incredible shine and repaired any damage, thanks to its natural, nourishing ingredients. I always choose shampoos with added vitamins like biotin to volumize and strengthen my hair.

2. Maintain Your “Money Piece”

Every three months, I update my “money piece”—the lighter strands around my face—with a gloss and toner treatment. This keeps my color fresh and adds moisture, preventing dryness. Regular color updates also help maintain that glossy, healthy look.

3. Let Your Hair Dry Naturally

Whenever I can, I avoid heat styling and let my hair dry naturally for at least 10 minutes after washing it. Air-drying not only helps reduce heat damage but also gives my hair natural texture and volume, which I love when I’m on the go.

4. Moisturize and Protect

Traveling can dry out your hair, so I always use nourishing oils and serums to lock in moisture and prevent split ends. A good moisture seal is key to keeping hair shiny and healthy through the elements. My go to is Colour Wow and Coconut oil maybe once or twice a month to give it that extra shiny effect.

5. Considering Olaplex for Added Strength

Though I’ve never used Olaplex, I’ve heard amazing things about how it repairs and strengthens hair. It might be the perfect addition to my routine when traveling to protect my hair from damage and keep it strong and shiny.

Final Thoughts

Keeping your hair thick, long, and healthy while traveling is possible with the right products and practices. From strengthening shampoos like L'Oréal Inforcer to repairing shampoos like Maria Nila Repair, a little extra care can go a long way in maintaining healthy hair.
